Montérégie is comprised of nearly 1,000 km of almost entirely paved bikeways, including 600 km of bike paths. With its network of trails, mature forests and five lakes, the Parc national du Mont-Saint-Bruno is a very famous place for hiking. As the first official tourist route along the Quebec and New York border, this 265 km trail follows both banks of the Richelieu River, and runs from Lacolle to the mouth of the St. Lawrence River at Sorel Tracy.
