Centrale hydroélectrique de Beauharnois

Located 40 kilometres from Montréal, between Lakes Saint-François and Saint-Louis, this is one of the world’s largest generating stations. A tour allows you to discover its heritage, architecture, the periods of construction and the huge stages of the electrification of the Montréal region, as well as the 38 generating units stretching for nearly one kilometre.

Interpretation Centres, Historic Sites and Museums

Admission : Free. Visitors of 18 years of age or more must present proof of identity (medical insurance card, driver’s license, passport) before touring the facilities.

Schedule : May 21 to September 2, daily : 9:30 a.m., 11:15 a.m., 1 p.m. and 2:45 p.m.

Activities : Discover its ancestral quality, architecture, various construction stages, and the major phases leading to the electrification of the Montréal region. See also the 38 turbine generator units spread out over nearly a kilometre.
