Lieu historique national de Coteau-du-Lac
The proposed experience
Here, the power of the rapids has shaped 7,000 years of history, ingenuity and defence and led to an ingenious idea: Canada's first fortified lock canal! Explore this special place, which was a natural stopping ground for the First Nations and where military strategists built their fort and its octagonal blockhouse, the emblem of the region. Inspiring activities that combine history, the outdoors and engineering are offered to you here. Visitors are encouraged to prepare their visit by consulting the website prior to travel.
