Verchères
The proposed experience
Discover the charms of a village dating back to 1672. Make your way to the village mill on Madeleine Street where guides wearing clothes from the New France era await you. They will take you on a tour of the Old Village and help you discover the area. The village mill also houses exhibitions from local artists in the summer. Admire the imposing bronze statue of our heroine, Madeleine de Verchères, one of the largest statues of its kind in the country. Nestled on the shores of the St. Lawrence River, Verchères offers a breathtaking view over this magnificent seaway. Come enjoy some tranquillity only 30 minutes away from Montréal and discover a warm and vibrant village. Every Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the farmer’s market is held in the city hall parking lot; it’s the perfect time to discover the regional producers.
