Dogs love to play in the snow. Lucky for us, so do we! Here is a list of places to explore with your furry friend—on a leash, of course. Enjoy your hike!

Sentiers de L’escapade, Rigaud

Bring your pooch to this 20-kilometre network of marked trails surrounding mont Rigaud. Leashed dogs are allowed everywhere and access to the site is free. Easy! It’s the perfect spot for breathing in the fresh air and taking in nature’s beauty.

*Dogs weighing over 20 kg must wear a harness or a halter.


St-Bernard Regional Park, Saint-Bernard-de-Lacolle

A local gem, the Parc Régional Saint-Bernard boasts 18 kilometres of trails in the heart of the forest where you can make one with nature. Allowed everywhere, your dog will have a great time playing in the snow with you.


Parc national du Mont-Saint-Bruno, Saint-Bruno-de-Montarville

Your loyal friend will be thrilled to come along your next winter walk at Parc national du Mont-Saint-Bruno, where dogs are welcomed on the Le Seigneurial (7 km), Le Grand-Duc (3.5 km) and Le Petit-Duc (1.5 km) trails. Need a drink to warm you up along the way? Grab a tea or coffee to go at Le Vieux Moulin tea room.

Parc national des Îles-de-Boucherville, Boucherville

In this park on the shore of the St. Lawrence River, leashed dogs are allowed on the 7-kilometre trail on île Sainte-Marguerite. Dress warmly and admire the snowy landscapes in a quiet atmosphere. Watch out, you might even come across a few animals on the way if you’re lucky.

Sentiers Jean-Baptiste-Jodoin and Cidrerie Michel Jodoin, Rougemont

Monday to Wednesday*, stretch your legs on the Sentiers Jean-Baptiste-Jodoin with your pup. Climb 4.6 kilometres to the top of mont Rougemont where you can admire the Cidredie Michel Jodoin’s orchards from the lookout. Cleats or snowshoes are recommended during your hike on these intermediate-level trails.

*9 a.m. to 3 p.m. during the winter season, $4 per adult (12 years and over), $3 per dog. Dogs are allowed Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays.


Sentier du Marais, Saint-Anne-de-Sorel

The 2.6 kilometre-long Sentier du Marais is ideal for a quick afternoon hike with your furry best friend. You’ll have a chance to explore the largest managed marsh in eastern North America for free. You absolutely must admire the views of baie Lavallière* from the 10-metre wooden observation tower.

*Snowshoes are recommended after heavy snowfalls because the path is not maintained in winter.
