Fromagerie au Gré des champs is a small local cheese factory that promotes organic products, respects the environment and prioritizes animal welfare. All of their cheeses have their own distinct taste and texture! The most popular ones include Carignan-Salières, Gré des Champs, D’Iberville, Péningouin, Pont Blanc, Monnoir, Frère Chasseur and Adjudant. Their 30 Brown Swiss cows can graze in Ecocert Canada-certified organic pastures that are free of pesticides, chemical fertilizers and GMOs. Pop by the shop to pick up some of their delicious cheese. Then visit the barn to see the adorable animals!

Satori Restaurant is passionate about fine Japanese cuisine—and after your meal, you will be, too! ALO Richelieu – Centre-de-plein-air-Ronald-Beauregard is a great place to spend the day, whether on land or water! You can rent water sports equipment like paddle boards, kayaks and even canoes on site at the Alo Richelieu O SUP Shop. Your dog is welcome to come along if they have their own life jacket. If you want to improve your technique, you can take a water class with O Fitness. If you’d rather stay on land, there’s also a park and facilities where you can enjoy a picnic with family and friends. Host a volleyball competition and let the little ones get their wiggles out in the water!

Located between rivière Richelieu and the Canal, the 20-km Chambly Canal multipurpose trail is a safe place to walk, run, bike or hike with your pup. It connects Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu to Chambly and starts at Lock No. 9. At this historical site, boats can get from the Canal to the river in just a few minutes. It’s a peaceful spot for a quiet stroll. You might even see a heron bathing in the Richelieu. The hundreds of snow geese preparing for their great fall flight are a sight to behold. The trail is open year round for winter walkers and adventurous fatbikers.

You’ll be dazzled by all the artists and unique performances. It’s the perfect night out with friends or family in Vieux-Saint-Jean.

Sauve qui peut is where the action’s at! You’ll feel like you’ve stepped into a whole new world in one of the 10 unique and amazingly decorated rooms. Give your brain a workout by trying to escape from one (or more) of the complex scenarios in under an hour. Their escape rooms are perfect for an evening out with friends. You’ll have a blast! Test your limits and logic with advanced expert-level games like Vortex Future. Denderah’s Secret is a beginner-level escape room for kids. You can even get lost in Falderon Forest with its adaptive level of difficulty! It’s a fun hour of problem solving, puzzles and more.

Boutique Rookery has a wide selection of clothing and accessories for men, women and children. Skateboarding enthusiasts can purchase boards, wheels, trucks and other parts for their skateboards. Lagabière is a craft brewery in Vieux-Saint-Jean. Nearby, you’ll find a bistro with a small outdoor patio facing the rivière Richelieu where you can grab a beer made in Haut-Richelieu. A small pizza on naan bread, classic poutine or nachos with the works all go great with one of their beers. They’re a perfect pairing! The brewery recently opened a new beer-making plant. There’s also a TapRoom and store where you can buy beer and seltzer. At the TapRoom, you can enjoy their beers either inside or outside.

You’ll be wowed by the spectacular art installations at parc des Éclusiers! Thanks to the Société de développement Vieux-Saint-Jean, you’ll often hear music in the park. You can relax on a wooden lounge chair facing the rivière Richelieu and the Canal path. Since the park is right next to downtown, you can pick up some food from one of the eateries in Vieux-Saint-Jean and enjoy it on a picnic table. You can even enjoy an alcoholic beverage with your meal from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., until October 10. Every season, the park gets a whole new look with a stunning themed look that contrasts nicely with the waterfront.

Le Nautique is one of many marinas in Haut-Richelieu. You’ll find many boats docked here, on the edge of downtown next to free parking. It’s free to debark, which means captains can get their own boats in the water hassle-free. After a day spent on the rivière Richelieu, enjoy dinner at Le Bleumarin, the marina’s restaurant. They’re known for their delicious seafood. The Belvédère room can accommodate 40-odd people. It’s the pefect spot to watch the sunset over the river.

Domaine Trinity is a beautiful restored historic site where visitors can enjoy Centre d’art Trinity and Maison Epiphany. In the summer, the estate comes alive with a lot of educational, cultural and musical activities, including live music, dances and movie screenings. And for the first time ever, Domaine Trinity will also host an artist residency. Françoise Dancause will be putting on a show called CorresponDanse de guerre. You can follow her whole creative process. The estate also has large grounds and fruit trees, where you can rest in the shade.
