Cidrerie La Pommeraie du Suroît
Cidrerie La Pommeraie du Suroît in Franklin is one of the few cider mills to produce all of its ice ciders using the cryogenic extraction process, a method which consists in pressing only whole frozen apples. Come taste a sparkling cider and a dry, fruity cider as you discover the ancestral estate's wonderful attractions.
Lucie Cousineau and Jean-Pierre Lepage decided to perpetuate traditional apple growing and ciderculture at their domain. The cider house opened in 2007 and its orchard now has 3,200 apple trees of seven different varieties. While touring the orchard, discover the magnificently charming ancestral property: a spectacular stone pathway lined with century-old maple trees, a silo dating back to the early 1800s and a private pioneer cemetery. The cider house also welcomes visitors.
