21st season opening for the ASIC Droulers/Tsiionhiakwatha

Droulers/Tsiionhiakwatha Archaeological Site Interpretation Center is glad to welcome visitors for a 21st consecutive year from May 29th to September 19th.

Strengthened by its reputation, the center welcomed almost 180 000 visitors since its opening. In 2020, despite the pandemic, the site was able to open its doors to the public and welcome many visitors from Quebec in particular, who took advantage of the border closure to discover their region and their province.

The ASIC and its dynamic crew are committed to their visitors’ well-being and are taking all the necessary actions in these times of adaptation to provide a quality experience while ensuring everyone’s safety. The ASIC must adapt again this year and will offer tours by family bubble (1 bubble per visit) to respect the actual sanitary measures. For the smooth running of the visits, they will be done exceptionally by reservation for the 2021 season. If the situation allows it, activities will be proposed on the weekends of August for the month of archaeology. No overnight stay is possible for the moment.

National historical site, officially recognized as a museum, Tsiionhiakwatha is a must in the Haut-Saint-Laurent and Montérégie tourism offer. It is an example of success in a rural area of cultural tourism development at the national level and also an example of a social and economical partnership between First-Nations (Mohawks) and non-first nations. For 20 years, the museum has been jointly administered by the Mohawks and the Haut-Saint-Laurent’s community in an educational and heritage preservation purpose. We look forward to seeing you this summer for a time travel at 1800 chemin Leahy, Saint-Anicet! Make a reservation at www.sitedroulers.ca.
