22nd season opening for the Droulers/Tsiionhiakwatha asic

Droulers/Tsiionhiakwatha  Archaeological Site Interpretation Center is glad to welcome visitors for a 22nd consecutive year from May 28th to September 18th.

Strengthened by its reputation, the center welcomed almost 180 000 visitors since its opening.  Despite the pandemic, the site was able to open its doors to the public the last two years and welcome many visitors from Quebec in particular, who took advantage of the border closure to discover their region and their province.

This year, the ASIC and its dynamic team are resuming normal activities and invite you to come and visit them without a reservation. Due to renovations, overnight stays will not be offered for the 2022 season. Special activities will be offered on weekends in August for Archaeology Month: stone cutting every Saturday in August, simulated archaeological digs on August 6 and 7, and practice cataloguing artifacts on August 13, 14, 20 and 21.

National historical site, officially recognized as a museum, Tsiionhiakwatha is a must in the Haut-Saint-Laurent and Montérégie tourism offer. It is an example of success in a rural area of cultural tourism development at the national level and also an example of a social and economical partnership between First-Nations (Mohawks) and non-first nations. For 22 years, the museum has been jointly administered by the Mohawks and the Haut-Saint-Laurent’s community in an educational and heritage preservation purpose. We look forward to seeing you this summer for a time travel at 1800 chemin Leahy, Saint-Anicet!
