This summer, discover Coteau-du-Lac National Historic Site and explore one of the first lock canals built in Canada. Strategically located to avoid the rapids of the St. Lawrence River and to counter the threat of American invasion, the site bears a dual historical and archaeological significance and contributed to the development of the Soulanges Canal. Simply put, it’s the perfect place for a visit or picnic. And it’s free!
