Circuit du Paysan

As the first signposted circuit in Québec, the Circuit du Paysan now boasts nearly one hundred members. Located in the Adirondacks foothills in the Vallée du Haut-Saint-Laurent, the circuit features 194 kilometres of regional attractions.

You are invited to meet with local producers and artisans who strive to preserve and highlight the regional terroir. Come taste savoury products of exceptional quality. The circuit features a great variety of mouth-watering experiences: various pick-your-own possibilities (fruits, berries, assorted vegetables, lavender), local alcohol products (vineyards, cider houses, microbreweries, meaderies, distilleries), cheese and chocolate factories, delicatessens, sugars shacks, bakeries, breeding farms, lavender production and much more.

The Circuit du Paysan brings together forward-thinking and bold producers. Here you will find the first lavender field in Québec, the first pick-your-own strawberry field and a master cheesemaker who is a Canadian leader in the creation of raclettes. The area is also the birthplace and cradle of ice cider in the province.

In addition to its gourmet attractions, the Circuit du Paysan will help you discover the richness of the local history and heritage through five museums or history interpretation centres. Extend your stay and enjoy the many activities and accommodations available. A zoo, a spa, restaurants, open outdoor spaces, a public market, an antique shop, a potter and a producer of body care products can also be found along the circuit.

All member sites of the Circuit du Paysan proudly display this logo at the entrance to their estate or reception point. The employees and management of each member enterprise are committed to ensuring the consistent quality of the welcome extended to visitors, and will make every necessary effort to fully satisfy the expectations of their guests and offer them an unforgettable tourist experience. The artisans’ values are: authenticity, quality, respect, know-how and sharing.

To learn more about the Circuit du Paysan, come attend the open house events that will be held on September 28 & 29, 2019 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. To mark the occasion, several participating farms and businesses will offer you privileged access to their site. Free tastings and guided tours are some of what you can expect. Each site will have surprises in store for you. Each of them promises a one-of-a-kind experience rooted in passion and authenticity.
