About the circuit
Spanning 48 km, 43 km of which paved, La Montérégiade connects Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu and Granby along farmland and woodland. Possibly stopping for cows crossing the road is among the many pleasant surprises in store for you.
The path is lined with 10 QR code panels you can scan to play a Frenchlanguage podcast titled Circuit d’un cheminot à vélo, which tells of the area’s rail history. Alternatively, restaurants, cafés, local shops, and
agritourism businesses offer several places to stop at either end of the trail. Accommodations near the path – hotel, B&B, condotel and campsite – make the experience complete.
Notice to users – Caution in wet weather
We remind users to be particularly cautious after rain, especially on the gravel sections between 9th Range Road and Route 104 in Farnham (parachute sector). These sections can become slippery or cause vehicles to get stuck when the ground is wet. Maintenance work is carried out regularly, but vigilance remains essential after inclement weather. Driving in these conditions also contributes to the deterioration of the trail surface. For your safety and to preserve the condition of the trail, it is recommended that you avoid these sections when the ground is wet.
