A family tradition that became a must-visit destination
In 2004, Mélanie Charbonneau, a graduate in agricultural business management and from a family of maple producers, fulfilled a childhood dream: purchasing a sugar shack and carrying on the family tradition. The site was not chosen by chance; it is home to the very first sugar shack opened to the public in Québec and is located next to the orchard where she grew up.
At just 24 years old, she took on this new challenge, supported by her partner Alexandre, now co-owner of the business. Over the years, the sugarbush expanded, evolved, and became more structured. In 2006, following major renovations, the sugar shack opened to the public and became a cornerstone of a dynamic agri-food business, complementing Verger Charbonneau.
Twenty years later, Érablière Charbonneau has become a must-visit destination during maple season — thanks to you! Each year, families, colleagues, and friends gather to enjoy a traditional meal, savour maple taffy on snow, visit the small farm, take a tractor ride, and stroll through the surrounding trails. Your loyalty and enthusiasm have allowed this family business to grow and innovate year after year.
A special program to celebrate 20 years
To mark this important anniversary, Érablière Charbonneau invites you to celebrate maple season with a lively program including:
- Ice sculptures
- An evening show
- Family activities
- And even fireworks to close the season in style!
In addition, from March 7th to April 26th, the Verger Charbonneau crêperie will transform into a maple-season dining space. Treat yourself to maple syrup crêpes, apple doughnuts, and maple-glazed mini ribs in an equally inviting atmosphere.
