The Acton Regional County Municipality (RCM) is tiny — just 24 km by 24 km ! In this small corner of the region, more than 40 farmers passionately cultivate and process local products. Discover their expertise in a truly rural setting where pastures and forests coexist with giant puppets and sunflower fields.
The Story Behind a Great Route
Located at the far eastern edge of Montérégie, the Acton RCM is defined by its vibrant, welcoming rural character. Launched in 2022, the Route des cultivateurs was born from a desire to connect visitors seeking authenticity with those who create high-quality products from the land. This growing initiative highlights the richness and diversity of the territory.
More than just an itinerary, the Route des cultivateurs is a celebration of the many facets of local agriculture. Following this agritourism trail encourages slowing down, soaking in the beauty of landscapes, and forming a direct connection with local producers.

Tasting Authenticity
Along the Route des cultivateurs, producers warmly open their doors, offering visitors an experience that is both gourmet and educational. Guests are invited into fields and orchards for berry, vegetable or apple picking. Here are a few unique experiences they offer:
Le Chou et la Fleur: In summer, join the owners for a tour of the family farm’s gardens and discover the secrets of permaculture and living-soil farming. (Seasonal kiosk)
Les Argousiers Sainte-Catherine: Stop at this beautiful estate to enjoy a see buckthorn tea or stretch your legs on the hiking trails. (Year-round shop).
Ferme Améroquois: During sunflower season, make a stop to admire the spectacular fields lit up in yellow. (Year-round shop)
Domaine Deslandes: In Acton Vale, pick your own table grapes and sour cherries, then sample the wines crafted on-site. (Year-round shop)
Au Gîte des Oies: At this gourmet counter, stock up on fine products from this little-known meat farm. (Year-round shop)
Les Trouvailles gourmandes du Canton: Visit the sheep farm and learn more about lamb breeding and its products. (Year-round shop)

Cultural Getaways of All Kinds
Beyond the gourmet stops of the Route des cultivateurs, you’ll find cultural attractions and visits to local artists’ studios. Sculptors, photographers, painters, illustrators, and artisans of wood, textiles, and framing — studio visits (often by appointment) are full of discoveries, as are their shops.

In Acton Vale, the Margie Gillis Dance Foundation offers cultural mediation workshops to introduce anyone to the world of contemporary dance. At the Théâtre de la Dame de Cœur, giant puppets bring large-scale outdoor shows to life. This summer, a new production promises to delight the whole family.
Countryside Scenary and Built Heritage
Traveling along the Route des cultivateurs is also an opportunity to discover the region’s built heritage. A long bike ride reveals architectural gems that reflect the RCM’s past — ancestral farms, historic buildings, picturesque villages, and more.

End your outing in style with a picnic at the Parc nature de la région d’Acton, or at Donald Martin Park, located along the La Campagnarde bike path.
