1555 Marché public

Where else can you find, under one roof, Colombian baked goods, premium meats, fresh fish and seafood, more than 150 varieties of local and international cheeses, artisanal charcuterie, European-style sandwiches, fine pastries, handcrafted chocolates and so much more?

Located in the heart of Saint-Hyacinthe since nearly two centuries, 1555 Marché public is Québec’s oldest public market to have continuously fulfilled its agricultural and food market vocation. From its indoor specialty shops to the seasonal outdoor vendors beneath its covered arcade, the market celebrates local flavours year-round. Before you leave, settle onto the terrace to enjoy your gourmet finds while soaking up the lively atmosphere.

“Québec’s oldest public market is well worth a visit! This architectural gem in Saint-Hyacinthe is not only beautiful to explore — it’s also the vibrant heart of our downtown.”

– Anthony Gagnon, William J. Walter Saucissier

La Rabouillère Farm

The hosts at La Rabouillère Farm like to say they offer a different kind of farm experience. Jérémie Pilon, a graduate of Québec’s Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management (ITHQ) in culinary arts, and Marie-Claude Bouchard, trained in table service and sommellerie, welcome visitors into a world where agritourism and gastronomy come together.

As you explore the working farm, you’ll meet an impressive variety of animals, including goats, sheep, pigs, donkeys, miniature horses, alpacas, peacocks, turkeys, chickens, ducks, pheasants, guinea fowl and rabbits. Wander along the wooded trail, visit the gardens, browse the gourmet shop and enjoy a picnic surrounded by nature. The farm also features a table champêtre (farm-to-table dining experience), where the menu is prepared almost entirely with ingredients produced on-site.

You can even stay overnight at the farm if you’re not ready to head home just yet!

“At La Rabouillère, we share much more than a place — we share our way of life: beautiful, authentic and genuine. Everyone deserves a chance to slow down and reconnect with what matters most: family, nature and good food.”

– Jérémie Pilon et Marie-Claude Bouchard, Owners

Calibré Cuisine

Drawing on his Belgian and German roots, Chef-Owner Roland Bambach creates refined, welcoming and inventive cuisine. Ingredients from across Montérégie take centre stage in a menu inspired by seasonal harvests and the freshest products available.

In addition to its restaurant and bistro, Calibré Cuisine offers customized catering services, private chef experiences and themed gourmet meal boxes. What a wonderful way to celebrate life’s special occasions!

“Calibré Cuisine brings together Québec’s local terroir and culinary creativity. Every visit is an invitation to discover Saint-Hyacinthe through bold, authentic and locally inspired cuisine.”

— Roland Bambach, Chef-Owner, Calibré Cuisine

Domaine Britannia Mills

In Saint-Dominique, the owners of Domaine Britannia Mills grow a crop that’s rather uncommon in Québec’s climate: hot peppers. Their harvest is transformed on-site into handcrafted hot sauces, barbecue sauces and spice blends, all available year-round at the estate’s boutique.

The farm also grows table grapes, apples and pears, adding even more variety to the region’s agricultural offerings. When fall arrives, you can enjoy picking your own apples, pears and table grapes fresh from the orchard.

Domaine Britannia Mills is also a favourite stop for cyclists. Recognized under the Fièrement vélo program, it offers a range of amenities for visitors exploring Montérégie by bike.

“At Domaine Britannia Mills, we transform hot peppers into a true culinary experience. Get ready to awaken your taste buds like never before!”

— Julie and David Croteau, Owners

Interra – Expérience immersive

Curious about how your everyday food is made? That’s exactly what Interra offers through its immersive experience located at the Noroi Distillery and Le Bilboquet Microbrewery. Designed for visitors of all ages, the interactive journey explores three fascinating worlds: fermentation, distillation and agri-food production.

The experience continues in the tasting lounge, where adults can sample a flight of locally crafted beers or spirits. Before heading home, stop by the discovery shop to browse an exclusive selection of regional products.

Educational, engaging and fun, Interra offers a deeper appreciation of the agri-food expertise that has made Saint-Hyacinthe and its surrounding area a culinary destination worth discovering.

“More than a tour, Interra offers an immersive and interactive experience that showcases the richness of our region by exploring the fascinating journey of food, from its origins to its transformation.”
