Spring

As the snow melts and maple season begins, tour the region’s sugar shacks to get your fill of maple products. Haut-Richelieu is home to a wide variety of agritourism businesses. Follow one of four gourmet picnic tours (“Pique-niques Gourmands”) through the countryside to pay them a visit.  Whatever the weather, you can learn about over 400 years of local history by visiting the museums and art galleries. Summer

Keep the party going all summer long in Haut-Richelieu, which hosts some 50 events taking place over more than 100 fun-filled days. In addition to these festivals, the region boasts over 100 km of cycling routes to let you really take in the scenery. The fabulous beaches on lac Champlain and discovery cruises on lac Champlain and the rivière Richelieu are a great way to soak up the summer. Fall

It’s not just the autumn colours on display, but the bounty of the harvest, as well! This is the just perfect time of year to discover the flavours of Haut-Richelieu by visiting a celebrated cheesemaker or taking of tour of a vineyard, cidery or orchard. Autumn is also a lovely season for a mountain walk or a thrilling obstacle course experience at Arbraska in Mont-Saint-Grégoire. Winter

The region’s many outdoor attractions are a just perfect excuse to go play in the snow. Whether you want to snowshoe through the mountains, barrel down the slopes or ice skate on trails along the rivière Richelieu or Lake Champlain, Haut-Richelieu is just the ticket. Various local events, including the Hivernal de montgolfières de Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu and Festival de la Saint-Valentin, will put you in the mood to celebrate the beauty of winter.
