Due to its geographical location on the banks and upstream of the St. Lawrence River, the territory of the MRC of Beauharnois-Salaberry has been closely linked to the history and development of Quebec. How can we remain away from territorial and economic development, commercial exchanges and the movement of populations, when waterways have for a long time proven to be the only routes of transport and communication?
