LES TRAINS AU CINÉMA
The proposed experience
What do Pascale Bussières, Roy Dupuis, Julie Le Breton, William Hurt, Lynn Redgrave, Saoirse Ronan and Debbie Lynch-White have in common? They all fimed for the cinema in one of the vehicles preserved at Exporail. The museum’s passenger cars, streetcars, and steam locomotives provide a setting sought after by the film industry. Filmmakers can create the atmosphere of a streetcar running in Montreal or Brooklyn, simulate the departure of a train from Montreal or a city in Europe, or immerse you in the atmosphere of the late 19th century as well as the mid-1950s. Among the films that have been shot at the museum are My Life in Cinemascope, Maurice Richard, Varian’s War, The Words, Brooklyn, La chasse-galerie : La légende and La Bolduc.
